The Lucent Merlin Legend Mail Voice Messaging System
provides the same features and functionality as its predecessor, the Merlin Mail
Voice Messaging System Release 3.0. However, its integrated design houses
both the station port and the voice mail functionality in a single module that
plugs into the Merlin Legend backplane. This voice mail module replaces
the hardware previously required to provide the same voice messaging service: an
012 module and separate Merlin Mail R3 system.
